Joseph Reek, CPP®

Prior to joining NY Blue Line Consulting Group, Joseph Reek spent 30 years with the New York City Police Department, retiring in the rank of Inspector. He is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP®), Board Certified in Security Management with ASIS International, as well as a NYS licensed Private Investigator and is also certified in Executive Protection. Joe is a proven law enforcement and personnel manager who has achieved excellence in the field of policing and maximizing employee efficiency, resulting in demonstrable increases in productivity and an increased level of positive employee, community, and corporate relations.
Before retiring, Joe was the Commanding Officer of the NYPD's Housing Bureau’s Special Projects Section. In that role, he reported directly to the Chief of the Housing Bureau, facilitating the priorities and strategies developed by the command staff across the entire Housing Bureau. He assisted in coordinating public safety and security related services and tasks within all Housing Bureau facilities across the City of New York, directly managing and organizing specialized security services provided by 2,000 uniformed police professionals of varying ranks and responsibilities for more than 400,000 residents, employees and guests within the city public housing system. Joe was directly responsible for the oversight, management and operation of law enforcement special projects and programs, including training, counter-terrorism, CCTV security camera systems, and community relations.
From 2000 to 2003 Joe was selected by the NYPD Police Commissioner to serve as the Commanding Officer of a Housing Bureau Police Patrol Service Area consisting of over 125 members of the service of varying ranks and responsibilities. He was directly responsible for the planning, direction and coordination of police services within 25 housing developments spread out across the Lower East Side and Chelsea neighborhoods within the borough of Manhattan, servicing 40,000 residents. Joe has extensive patrol experience in various patrol and supervisory assignments in the confines of the 7th, 17th, 32nd, and 115th Precincts, as well as the Police Academy Leadership Training Section commands.
Joe holds a Bachelor Degree in Social Science from SUNY and is a member of the New York Long Island Chapter of ASIS International Security Association; the NYPD and SCPD SHIELD, Public/Private Security Partnerships; the NCPD SPIN, Security/Police Information Network; and the FBI InfraGard, a partnership between the FBI and the Private Sector.
Joe is also a member of the Farmingdale State College SUNY Security System and law Enforcement Technology Department Advisory Committee, and the Colorado Technical University College of Security Studies Advisory Council.
